Conference GOALS

This conference follows a two tear approach.

• On Friday focusing on parents working to establish a German American immersion school.
• Information, support and contacts will be supplied
• Parents learn from each other
• See how AEACS immersion works
• Learn how other schools operate
• Realize how others have been able to make their vision tangible
• Attain any other information

• On Saturday focusing on professional support for administrators, but shared with interested parties
• Learn from other's experience with immersion and share expertise
• Investigate evaluation and assessment options meeting the needs of immersion schools pre-K through ~6-8
• Define needs for assessments to be developed
• Intensify exchange on standards for the German American immersion classroom
• Get information on how to get teaching assistants, speaking the target language as their mother tongue
• Learn about how to "import" exchange teachers
• Receive hands on suggestions for fund raising

• On Saturday focusing on professional support for teachers
• Learn more about the IB practice
• Get input on "Learning strategies for group work"
• Share best practice on teaching in different schools of several colleagues
• Attain any other information
